Hi, my name is Mark Rice and my fascination with plants, flowers, trees and the natural world has been with me from an early age, the birds, animals and thousands of insects that bring it alive always tell me life is for living, enjoying and learning, with this in a garden who could stay indoors ?
Its all about keeping your plants looking good and healthy all year round, the soil, nutrients and plant selection.
Look into growth patterns - Environmental factors that affect plant growth - Create or renovate - Plants that compliment each other from perennials to shrubs and trees - What can you add to your soil to put a smile on your plants
One important aspect in the garden is reading your plants, if its hot are your plants wilting because they are dry or have you over-watered ( There is an easy way to tell ) - Dead-heading, each plant responds differently and it could be the difference between a summer of colour or a couple of weeks - Do you know how to read your plants ? - The bigger the leaf the more shade is needed
Use your plants to blend with you and the garden, renovate old borders, re-plan areas, enhance other features ( Conservatory, Extension, Garden Room )
The aim would be to create areas in your garden that are usable, spaces for you ( and family ) to enjoy the freedom and openness that a garden gives you. Regardless if it is a business, public or privately used space, any are can be enhanced with a little softness in a hard area, it will relax you more, remove the stark edges, create an atmosphere you are happy to be in, relax and clear your mind.
The garden ( or green area ) is a process as much as a work of art, if the edges are sharp and the plants can soften and frame, it can be like an artist painting a masterpiece, only this one will change all on its own through the seasons, something different through the year.
Detailed report on your garden area - Covering all aspects so you can plan and manage it easily
Current situation - Sometimes it helps to have a view from another person to the positive points your garden has
Evaluating health and condition of plants, shrubs, trees - Advice on plant selection - Guidance on managing those plants - How to incorporate planting with new projects such as Garden Offices or Rooms, Outdoor Kitchen Area, Conservatories, Paved Areas
Border Planning - Landscape Planting - Courtyard Planting - Using the right plants in the right environments
Plants grow differently in each garden, we often hear about ‘‘right plant right place’’ and that can make some people think that they can only have certain plants in there gardens. This is not true, if you want a particular plant in your garden, create an area for it and give it the attention it needs. Border planning can do just that. All plants positioned on a plan in the border, full list of how to look after them and keep them healthy, any specific needs, and if you would like a particular plant or species, how to create the area for them. Full back up after if advice is needed. All garden planning should be done with time, think now for next year, that display you want is just a plan away.
