Hi, my name is Mark Rice and even from an early age my fascination with plants and the garden has been forever evolving. We all admire colour in the garden, big estates, other peoples gardens even our neighbours who seem to never do anything wrong.
But with careful planning and selection we can all enjoy the beauty and life that plants give us, its just making sure you have the right plant for your soil, the right position to keep it healthy and most of all the understandng of how you can keep it looking good all year round.
Inspire Garden Architects celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2024 and its all down to putting my clients first, making the right choices that fit perfectly to suit your needs, advice to help you make an informed decision on your garden area.
Its all about keeping your plants looking good and healthy all year round, the soil, nutrients and plant selection.
Look into growth patterns - Environmental factors that affect plant growth - Create or renovate - Plants that compliment each other from perennials to shrubs and trees - What can you add to your soil to put a smile on your plants
One important aspect in the garden is reading your plants, if its hot are your plants wilting because they are dry or have you over-watered ( There is an easy way to tell ) - Dead-heading, each plant responds differently and it could be the difference between a summer of colour or a couple of weeks - Do you know how to read your plants ? - The bigger the leaf the more shade is needed
Most of todays flowering plants rely on insects for pollination, but Conifers and about 12% of the worlds flowering plants are wind pollinated such as Grasses and cereal crops which we rely on for food, and although Honeybees get most of the credit at least 1,500 insect species pollinate plants in the UK -
Design, plan, construct and manage from start to finish, solving problems and working effectively with a team. The aim of this service would be to create green spaces with the main focus on softening your hard areas. Regardless if it is a business, public or privately used space, a little softness in a hard paved area will relax you more, remove the stark edges, soften the ground you are walking on or your seating is on, make the areas different to each other.
The garden ( or green area ) is a process as much as a work of art, if the edges are sharp and the plants can soften and frame, it can be like a artist painting a masterpiece, only this one will change all on its own through the seasons.
Gardens have no language or cultural barriers, they can be enjoyed by everyone for what they are beauty and tranquility
