Right plants for the right conditions

This border was positioned on the right side of the garden, on a slope just below some hard standing paving. This meant that when it rained the border became very wet, but it was also in a hot spot of the garden which received a lot of sun through the day. The plants had to be able to tolerate both heat from above for a prolonged period through the day and excessive water at times on the roots. hard area to work but the choice of plants made all the difference. these plants would clump to form nice bundles of greenery and flowers through most of the year.
