Trends
When we look at our gardens they can easily be given a second glance, not in the mood, can’t do that, not enough time are all excuses we give, but if we made time it would be much more welcoming. gardens need to feel alive so lets look at the trends ( you probably have some in your house )
With the world as it is today to many buildings, to many trees being cut down, poor management the most common sense trend has been naturalization. natural shapes and planting, naturalistic design as well as making space for wildlife habitats in the garden.
Another valuable trend is making best use of small spaces, small back garden, front garden or courtyard it can be done. Many gardens are used as social gathering spaces so create interest, front gardens are vital in how people see you, they are peoples first impressions, how they picture you, your colour palette, shapes tell a story.
With many gardens forest gardening is now an issue, trees in the garden cleaning the air, habitats for wildlife and birds, various colour combinations through the year as well as the sculpted skeleton of those majestic tree shapes in winter.
So, what are we going to be doing in 2026 -
We are looking at rich colours and tones, burgundy, plum, emerald, amber and combine with some smart lighting to really set it off. Set this off with some planned planting, give it a purpose, be bold in your plants foliage ( its not all about flowers ), make it smart, sustainable, bring the indoors outdoors ( garden rooms with houseplants ), and darken up your hard landscaping.
