My Diary May 2026
What am I doing this month ?
Full of excitement after coming back from 2 1/2 weeks in the highlands of Scotland, Strontian and Mull, wildlife everywhere, Golden Eagles, Red Squirrels,Otters, Divers and Pine Martins, and a very surprising Tawny Owl on the corner of our Hobbit house at the Owlery in Strontian.
In May we have started off with the North Somerset Show, wet weather to start but brightened up in the afternoon, quite busy and got to talk to a few people through the day. Started on a creation in Clifton this week, clearing araes, creating borders and planning the planting. To see a garden coming to life is a great feeling and as it is here, Karine one of my clients is working with me and learning as we go.
Excited to be going to Glastonbury to look at a garden that may need a wild garden design, a garden that could be full of interest and life 12 months of the year, a few border plans to create and a design to start the process on of quotes and planting.
Lets get some planting done and help the planet breathe
15th May 2026 - Working in one of my favourite gardens in Langford we have a Blackbird nesting just to the left of the front porch in the Ivy, Wood Pigeons in the Hydrangea Petiolaris on the main wall and for a really pleasant surprise, at the bottom of the garden in the Ivy on the right wall we have Wrens feeding there young. The plan and the planting 18 months ago is working, the amount of wildlife we now have has been lifting and exciting, all I can do is smile.

Lets hope next week will be a little more workable.
Have a good week, Mark
